Mönik House
Since 2015, in her workshop in Biarritz, Aurélia Maës, the creator of Maison Mönik, has been transforming shells, shaping clay, creating bronze pieces and combining materials with a passion that knows no boundaries.
She particularly loves the Caurie, a shell she discovered during a visit to the island of Gorée, where it is used to read the future.
Continuing her travels and encounters around the world, Aurélia will create a line of jewelry in which her tender 80s, her raw ethnic aspirations and sometimes even a bit primitive will be mixed. Like the African beads in recycled vinyl that she has been working with since her beginnings, with a subtle, non-ostentatious femininity, for a free and timeless woman.
