It's undeniable: celebrities exert considerable influence on the fashion world thanks to their visibility, their style choices and their partnerships with brands. The place of trends in the industry is considerable and the stars are completely integrated into these phenomena.

Here we have compiled an (almost) exhaustive list of all the ways in which our favorite stars enter our daily lives to ultimately completely influence our style. Engines, action!

The red carpets

It is very common to see celebrities who start a trend after an appearance on a red carpet, sometimes even without meaning to. The ultra-media coverage of its events means that fans and fashion enthusiasts often have all the cards in hand to copy their beloved stars. For us, the benchmark event in this area is the MET Gala. Organized every year in spring by fashion queen Anna Wintour, it is an unmissable event for all enthusiasts.

What is Method Dressing?

From Barbie to Dune via Wednesday or The Lion King, it is not uncommon for actors to now promote their films by drawing inspiration from their characters.

This is what we call Method Dressing (in reference to Method Acting). Concretely, it is a new form of sartorial narration in which the actors recall the costumes and sets of the film they are promoting.

Did we say new form? Actually not that much.

Many actors have already tried Method Dressing over the years, such as Blake Lively for A Simple Favor in 2018. But it is in 2023 that the trend has conquered actors and their stylists as well as the public: the outfits are now become more than just a choice. These are real strategic promotional tools on red carpets.

The most characteristic example in our opinion is played by Margot Robbie during the promotion of the film Barbie last summer. Who hasn't seen their Instagram feed flooded with fuchsia pink? The impact was so considerable that a trend, Barbiecore, was born, even leading spectators to adopt it to go see the film in the cinema.

This style strategy has only grown in popularity since then, with movie stars walking red carpets around the world translating their films' themes into style statements. Law Roach, notably Zendaya 's stylist, has become a reference in the field, transforming, film after film, the muses in their care.
